The Gathering isn’t just an event—it’s a living story. At its heart, The Age of Aquaterra is about building a world that challenges how we experience community, creativity, and competition in Second Life. It’s not just about battles, parties, or spectacle (though there will be plenty of that). It’s about asking a deeper question: what happens when we collectively build a myth, and then step into it together?

The Intention

Our intention is simple: to create immersion. We want every participant—whether they’re a battle-hardened warrior, a first-time wanderer, or a casual spectator—to feel like they are part of a living, breathing world. Aquaterra is a post-apocalyptic seascape where tribes rise, alliances fracture, and stories unfold. Every avatar, every scene, every interaction adds to the mythology.

The Objective

The objective is twofold:

  1. To unite creators and communities around a shared narrative, giving space for expression in design, performance, storytelling, and play.

  2. To transform Second Life into a stage where audiences don’t just watch, they participate. Through streaming, machinima, and in-world immersion, Aquaterra will be experienced as both story and spectacle, in real-time.

The Aim

The aim of The Gathering: Age of Aquaterra is to leave an imprint—a memory that feels larger than the sum of its parts. This is more than a calendar of events. It’s a journey. It’s a space where creativity meets competition, where artistry meets adrenaline, where friendships and rivalries shape a world that disappears when the event ends, but lingers in memory long after.

A Word from the Organisers

"We’re not just building an event—we’re building a mythology. The Gathering is meant to blur the line between entertainment and belonging. Aquaterra is the story we tell together."— Trynn

"The power of Aquaterra is in collaboration. Every creator, every tribe, every participant brings a piece of themselves, and when those pieces collide, the story writes itself. That’s where the magic lives."— Emily Silkstone
